Biography: Mike has more than 25 years of entrepreneurial and business experience that includes work in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. Prior to joining CSUSB, Mike was involved in avionics manufacturing, business consulting, and economic development. Since joining CSUSB, he has served as the director of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE). During this time, the program has grown from a handful of students to nearly 250 and seen its staff blossom to nearly 20 team members. He has developed 14 major programs that serve the campus and local business community and raised nearly $12 million in capital through grants, gifts, sponsorships and contracts. Under his leadership the Center has received a variety of national rankings and education awards and he has been recognized twice in the last three years for teaching excellence by the College of Business and Public Administration.

Courses: ENTR 543 – New Venture Opportunity Analysis; ENTR 621 – Entrepreneurship & New Ventures; ENTR 625 – New Venture Planning and Strategy.

Research Interests: Trust and intrapreneurship, innovation, social entrepreneurship, new venture funding, entrepreneurship pedagogy.
